Tim PenningtonFriends often ask me how I got into photography. My answer: I realized I was pushing forty-years old and didn’t have a hobby. I guess that’s a side-effect of spending years in school and years in the office or on airplanes traveling for business.

So, I saved up some money and around 2006 I purchased a Canon 20D. Then, instead of watching the movies on all those plane rides (they only change them twice a month anyway) I started reading books on photography and applying what I learned. Pretty soon my family and friends started complementing me on the pictures I took. I was honored; and they inspired me to share my pictures with you.

Like many photographers, I started out taking pictures of mainly nature and cityscapes — the monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C. were a favorite.  Soon I got actively involved in a local photography club and met some very talent photographers.  From experience and connections, I have had the opportunity to be the lead or assistant photographer for many events and weddings.

I hope that the images I share with you speak of our loving Creator God who provides all joy, blessings talents.
